Program Walk21 Rotterdam 2019
On Monday 7 October you can join some exciting long form workshops. This is your chance to deep-dive into subjects from micro mobilities to lessons learned from years of experience in walking advocacy, and from measuring to wayfinding! Afterwards, you can get to know each other better during the welcoming reception organised by the City of Rotterdam.
The Walk21 Rotterdam 2019 program on Tuesday 8 and Wednesday 9 October offers a mix of getting up to speed on the latest developments, making your own unique contribution to the ongoing debate and being inspired by interesting keynote sessions. Of course, there will be more than enough opportunities for networking! The program offers a mix of Breakout Sessions, City Surgeries, Pecha Kuchas and a fast and energetic poster session.
If you want to experience all the efforts Rotterdam and Rotterdammers are taking to put pedestrians first, make sure you join one of the many walkshops. See how Rotterdam’s public space is changing, what efforts have been undertaken to motivate Rotterdammers to walk more and how attractive routes connect the city itself with the landscape outside the city limits.
Walk through the cities of the Netherlands
After the closing plenary keynote, everyone is invited to join excursions to various other Dutch cities. Here you can learn more about how Dutch cities. Always famous for their cycling infrastructure, they are now tailoring their public space more and more to walkers.
On Monday evening, the City of Rotterdam warmly invites you to a welcoming reception. The infamous Walk21 party will be held on Wednesday 9 October, and of course the only fitting way to kick off this party is with a walking dinner!
